Muted :(

Jagex have decided they don't like me again, so now I've been muted for a day.
Here's the 'evidence'. I said Sara Scum in Castle Wars. In my opinion, this isn't against the rules since it is in no way censored, and I didn't bypass the filter in any way, I just said it.

Here's my appeal, which they promptly denied, saying I should take a closer look at the rules...

Here's my account. Maybe you remember that the 0.5 for "Jagex Staff Impersonation" was completely wrong? So, I've now been found guilty of two offences that are incorrect, and cleared of an offence that would perm mute me. God Jagex, this is really starting to piss me off.

Fishing Banner

I've decided to create banners for all of the skills, so that my blog reflects what I am training. My first one is a fishing banner (since I am training that now), and I quite like it. It does seem a bit dull, but I'm not sure how to improve it.

Summoning! (Part 2)

Jagex have released the first concept art for Summoning, here it is, ready to download!

"This wallpaper contains concept art from the Summoning skill including a wolpertinger and spirit wolf. We’ll leave you to speculate what the intriguing pile of rocks is all about."

90 Cooking

Cooking is so much easier than fishing, it's actually stupid. I can get from 89-90 cooking in a day EASILY, but 89-90 fishing will take like a week...

Anyway, got 90 cooking without any real trouble. Grand exchange is out, so all my lobs have plummeted in price! Also, here is the plan for the next few weeks (months (years)):
  • 90 Fishing
  • 50-70 Hunter (ready for summoning)
  • Melee...
I really like hunter, and now I have a good excuse to do it! Melee is getting put off so much, but I will get round to it!

Summoning! (Part 1)

Jagex have finally confirmed that Summoning will be added into the game! Here is (in my opinion) the most important quote from the Development Diary:

"The core idea being that these summoned animals would do more than just fight for you. "We were also thinking Animal Lore would be to Hunter, what Smithing is to Mining," he continues - you'd either catch and train up animals or call them out of the wild to aid you."

So hunter won't be a completely useless skill any more!?

I'd better train it to 60 or 70 so that I am ready for Summoning.

Connector

Well, the connector finally came through, but the GBA and SP don't seem to want to connect. One will say "Waiting for other player" whilst the other says "You need to be connected to do this"...

I'm gonna borrow my friend's SP to see if that works. if it doesn't, I'll get a refund from TulipBuds who sold Pokémon Red to me. I was really looking forward to this, now it's all gone wrong, sigh.

Free GBA SP

I won't go into the details, but I 'magic'ed up a GBA SP 2 days ago. I took a couple of pictures of my old GBA, my sister's GBC, and my new GBA SP. I'm gonna give her the GBA, keep the GBC and use the SP myself. Problem is, I've had to get all new connectors and stuff for the SP. I bought a USB Battery Recharger off The Game Train, which came the next day, which was pretty nice. Now I'm just waiting for my GBC - GBA adapter to come through the post so I can "catch 'em all!"

Duel Arena Tournaments...

...are CRAP.

So, you go downstairs to the Duel Arena, check out what is required to join each set. Discover it is something stupid, like No Armour and Melee only.

So once you've got your inventory sorted for that match, you join, only to discover that there is a 10 minute wait time, and you have absolutely nothing to do in that time, since you don't know who you are facing.

After the painfully-long wait, you finally get into a waiting room for a pointless split-second, then shoved into arena, almost certainly facing a very high level with Godsword etc.

If you somehow do manage to beat them, you WILL get killed in the next round, wasting food and potions for shit xp. This minigame is pointless except to those 120+ combat with the best equip money can buy.

Now, about your "Tournament Points." You start with 1600+ Your Combat Level, so high levels have an instant advantage. Beating 1 opponent earns you no xp, beating 2 earns you about 4. Losing loses you about 12. Just breaking even is hard.

VERDICT:
High levels: It'll be piss easy, just go and own.
The rest of us: It's useless.

Castle Wars

As you know, I've been doing Castle Wars, so I thought this would be a good time to test out Flickr, which I've been meaning to do for a while. I took about 30 quick pictures, watch a slideshow of them here. Use arrow keys or click on the edges of the picture to view more!

If it doesn't work, please e-mail me using the address at the top of the page, thanks!

Indesruc2 Tank

Indestruc2 Tank is the sequel to Indestructo Tank.

I've been playing it for a couple of hours, and I absolutely love it. There is a weak storyline, and I skipped most of it, but the gameplay is great. Instead of avoiding bombs, you actually have to try and be hit by them so you can be launched into the air. In the air, you have to hit different sorts of planes to build up combos. Exp is used to increase the frequency of enemies so you can get better combos. My best was 80 on Medium.

The sequel is a lot more addictive too, with 18 medals to collect. Most don't take long, but hard mode is nearly impossible!

Gravity Ball 2

I was looking round NewGrounds and found this nice game. When you beat all the levels, you get the password 'skobydob'. If you don't wanna play properly and just cheat, enter this password on the menu. When you do, you get a level select, as well as access to a secret level where you have unlimited balls and time. Gravity is normal, but your paddle is on the ceiling.

Kelly Brook

As some of you know, about 2 months I posted a Kelly Brook video on Youtube, and it did OK. Anyway, I was looking around, and it's doing pretty well. Here are it's stats:
Favourited: 46 times
Honours: 0 (I had tons but they expired)
Links: 5
Views: 17,237
Ratings: 13
Average rating: 4/5

I was doing some searches, here are the results:
"Kelly Brook" - 10th
"Kelly Brook xxx" - 1st
"Kelly Brook naked" - 1st
"Kelly Brook hot" - 5th
"Kelly Brook sexy" - 1st
"Kelly Brook measurements" - 1st
"Kelly Brook born" - 5th

Not too bad, need to get up the "Kelly Brook" list though.

Also, on Runescape, I've decided to get the basic set of Castle Wars armour. I always wanted to, but never got round to it. Also, I can put it up in my house!

50 Herblore

For no real reason, I took a break from fishing and cooking to use up all my old herbs I had laying round. I only just got to 50 by using Greenman's Ale to make Fishing Potions.

Also, I now have 3 lines of empty space in my bank, woot! Only a few million xp left to 90 fish and cook...

New updates

After updating the skill icons, Jagex have now updated the way stats' info is viewed! I'm not too keen on it, because I think it takes up too much space, but the 'xp left' bit is quite nice.

Also, skills like Fishing, Woodcutting and Mining can now not be assisted, since there was a black market for time starting to arise!

Blog Idea

I was just thinking, and I reckon it would be pretty easy for Google to implement this new feature into Blog*Spot/Blogger:
  1. Multi-image upload would be permitted
  2. When you upload more than 1 image, you have the choice to make it into a sort of slideshow.
  3. Google could do this by adding the images to a simple .gif file.
  4. This would make anyone's blog more attractive, and more functional.

SwiftSwitch Timer

I was bored, so I left SwiftSwitch on for a few days to see how long the timer went on. I guessed that it went to 100 then reset because it couldn't handle 3-digit numbers. Unfortunately, it only got to 60 Hours, then I got this message:

When I clicked 'OK', the timer went back to 00:00:00, but wasn't counting! When I restarted SS though, it worked.

Maybe banned?

I might be banned on Habbo UK, but I can't appeal the ban until I find out the birthday I used to sign up, which I wrote down somewhere. More details coming...

EDIT: I used 'skill' to unban myself.

Finally got it!

I finally managed to buy Pokémon Red on eBay. Should be getting here today or Monday! Here's a few screenshots of the transaction:

Fishing...

I think I under-estimated getting 90 fishing. I seem to have been doing it for years, but it's only been 3 weeks or so. Cooking every 5k I get is good, because it breaks up the boredom. I reckon 99 cooking won't be that hard to do.

Current:
86 Fishing
88 Cooking

I've fished and cooked exactly the same amount, weird how cooking lobsters is waaay faster and waaay better xp than fishing them.

After fishing and cooking, I might need to do something fun before I get into the dull task of melee. I'm thinking maybe hunter? I remember it being really easy levels, and that was at my old 'boredom level', which has gone up so much since I started fishing. Basically, if i can do the same dull thing over and over and over for three weeks, I reckon doing something fun (hunter) for a couple of days will be great.

Pokemon Red :(

It's really hard to buy Pokémon Red, because it is such an old game. Also, I only have about £5 on PayPal, so I get outbid every time. I asked mum to buy it for me, and I'd pay her back, but she can't remember her eBay password!

I can't buy it in a shop, I'd look stupid, and they don't sell it.

If anyone knows where I can buy it online for under £5 (inc postage), e-mail me at fizziwig@blueyonder.co.uk and I'll reward you!

Skill Icons

All of the skill icons have been redesigned, and I think it was long overdue. Finally the agility icon is better than sticks! I have compared the two styles below. (Left skills aren't mine!)

BIG Runescape Updates

Just looked through this month's behind the scenes feature, and tons of new things are coming in. Also, Grand Exchange - Selling items across the servers without even having to be there, amazing. Make x = useful. XP to next level doesn't affect me much as SwiftSwitch has it built in anyway. Assist system sounds good for stopping some item scams too. I'll report more on the features when they are implemented. A stunning new update? Sounds big, like RS3 big..

In recent months, we have been looking more and more at how wealth and objects move around the game. Our first update of the month, the Assist System, will continue in a similar vein, and owes a lot to your reports and suggestions. You told us that you wanted a system for offering services to others without actually transferring items. So, with the Assist System, we will bring you that ability. You will, for example, get a high-level crafter to cut your gems for you with no gems ever leaving your inventory! This system will be useful across a multitude of different skills and will be very easy to get to grips with.

The popular 'Make-X' option makes its way to the Smithing skill this month, so a blacksmith will be able to happily hammer away at an entire inventory of bars without multiple clicks.

This month also sees the release of the penultimate cave goblin quest. Ever since Zanik emerged from the mines below Lumbridge she has been faced with troubles very much of the H.A.M. variety. A different challenge faces her in this quest, which will require stealth and subterfuge to complete, taking you to places that have never been seen by human eyes, including some that have only been noted in goblin fable. Will a discovery of monumental proportions help bring the goblin tribes together? Only time will tell. Listen well and show your true knowledge to find a path to the Land of the Goblins.

As a result of numerous suggestions, we will also be making some changes to the skills interface. For one, we will be adding a 'How much xp till my next level?' statistic to each skill, so that you know just how close you are to achieving your goals!

Also this month, we will be introducing some fantastic changes to the Duel Arena. We have drawn information from a recent poll, various suggestions from players, forum posts and general feedback to create some improvements. There was overwhelming support for tournaments, so we will offer enough room for 64 players and large prizes. You wanted more options on the Hiscores table, well, soon you will be able to track your Tournament Rank, which will reflect your Duel Arena awesomeness!

Later in the month, we bring you the 'Grand Exchange'. This new building will be located in the north-west of Varrock and will house a huge new addition to the game: the ability to offer items to buy and sell across ALL servers and to ALL players! You might, for example, go to the Exchange and put a full Barrows set up for sale - then, playing Skullball in Canifis, you might get a message telling you that they have sold and that you can go to the nearest bank to receive payment! The Grand Exchange will allow you to spend more time on the things you enjoy, providing a less time-consuming alternative to selling your items on the Forums or amongst the crowds of Varrock Marketplace.

Add a Guaranteed Content poll, Players' Gallery, Postbag and a Development Diary, and you have a month to remember.

We couldn't part from you without mentioning something very, very big on the horizon. The new year brings a stunning new update, and we are so happy with it that we are going to let a few hints trickle out over the next few weeks..

Pokemon Blue - Best Glitch Ever?

For no real reason, I started playing Pokémon Blue again. After a couple of days, I remembered the legendary "MissingNo" glitch! This happens when you Fly to Viridan City, speak to the man, let him teach you how to catch pokémon, fly to cinnabar islands and surf along the east coast.

Either a L100+ monster appears, the monster varies according to your name, or MissingNo. If you kill / run from MissingNo, it makes the 6th item in your inventory be cloned 127 times. This means a nugget, which sells for 5k, can be cloned many times! Also, rare candy, which instantly levels your pokemon, can be got instantly. This means you can have a L100 pokemon in about 10 minutes!
