The Rock Climbing Boots disaster
Yeah, disaster.
Alright, so Jagex, for some reason changed the "Climbing Boots" item into "Rock Climbing Boots", and gave it some stats. They also made them high alch for 45k.
Just to clarify, they turned an item worth 12 coins, into an item worth 45k. That anyone could have any number of. Do you see the problem here?
These "Rock Climbing Boots" are a new item, with some stats, unlike the old "Climbing Boots", that did not. But wait, these "Climbing Boots" still exist. Exactly the same.
So Jagex pretty much created a new item, then converted all of the cheap, existing items into it. This led to a price increase of 4,317%. That's ridiculous. Say I bought 1 million gp worth of climbing boots before the update. This update would make me be worth 4.3 billion gp.
Also, some Moderators leaked news of this update to their friends, leading to them buying all of the climbing boots, and making obscene amounts of money.
Finally, this reaaallly isn't going to help with Runescape's inflation issue. Really isn't.

Mining
When I finally make it to 91 slayer, I'm going to take a break to properly train mining.
I'll probably use granite up to 77, when I can use the lovely Living Rock Caverns; easy, fast, profitable, afk mining xp. Mine concentrated coal from 77-80, and if I'm still enjoying it there, then I will mine gold up to 85 or so, and smith this with gold gauntlets for good smithing xp (especially with the 20 stealing creation hammers I have saved up!)
I still need to think what I'm going to do about having a familiar boost my mining, and I will need to do tests to see if the bonus ores are worth the cost of the familiar. Although, the extra xp will probably be worth it alone.
I need 83 for a lava titan, which provides a mining boost of 10, so I may have to get summoning up first, to speed up my mining xp.

97 Defence + 131 Combat
SGS vs Excal
I had been saving up for a Saradomin Godsword, currently around 69m, but I was speaking to a few friends about it and they suggested an alternative. The enchanted excalibur.
This weapon has a special attack that boosts defence by 15%, and also heals 200 lifepoints (approx 20%). Below I will list the pro's and con's of using a Excalibur (e) instead of a Saradomin godsword, and hopefully this will help someone else to choose.
Pro's:

Pro's:
- Costs almost 70m less.
- Provides a defence bonus so less damage will be taken anyway.
- Also only takes up one invent space.
- Is one handed, whereas sgs is two handed, allowing me to carry on using shield.
- Requires Seer's village achievement diary to be 100% completed.
- Cannot reasonable used as a weapon, as it has the same stats as a rune longsword, whereas the sgs is a very strong weapon on it's own.
- The healing effect takes around 10 seconds to finish, so can't be used in an emergency.
So I'm going to get the excalibur after this steel dragon task, and I hope it is as good as it sounds.
Also, the dungeoneering gem bag is very useful.

Evil Tree
Pcfl member Never Me took me to an evil tree today, which seems to be a recent addition to woodcutting.
People swarm around a large, violent tree, chopping away roots to get at it. They can also receive evil tree kindling, which when used on the tree gives 1k firemaking xp.
Once the tree is dead, everyone gets given a set of rewards. They get items (I received around 1kgp, 1 willow tree seed, and 12 yew logs), bonus banking (for the next 20 mins, if I have a full inventory, any logs will be automatically sent to my bank), and an increased chance of receiving birds nests from trees.
Seems fairly rewarding, and a good way to break up a dull skill.
99 Hitpoints / Constitution / HEART.
